As I work to get to know everyone here, I would like to introduce myself and give you all a chance to get to know me a bit more.

I am originally from Slinger, with only one older sister, but with a dozen cousins who almost all still live in the area. My dad is an accountant, and my mom is now the Child and Family Minister for my home parish and the clustered parishes. My sister is an alcohol and drug abuse counselor for UW Health in Madison.

Growing up, my family was constantly active in many things, such as little league, Boy Scouts, Tae Kwon Do, marching band, various school clubs, and volunteering with numerous groups at events. This kept us doing things as a family, which was a priority. One of the main volunteer events which we joined while I was in high school is helping to run the Germantown Oktoberfest, which is held in the area where my family settled in the early 1800s.

Some of my favorite memories were when we would go Up North at least once a year to the family lake house up in Presque Isle, about 2 miles south of the border with the UP. My grandpa had helped to design and build this house so that he could have fun with the grandkids, which he did. Whether that was fishing, either off the boat or through the ice, snowmobiling, jet skiing, playing cards or yard games, or just sitting outside talking. I still love being outside, whether in the woods or on the water, and enjoy most outdoor activities, as well as woodcarving and reading.

I started my journey to the priesthood in 8th or 9th grade, after having a difficult time with the adjustment from Catholic to public school. I got more involved with the parish and met some very good friends, many of whom told me that they could see me as a good priest. I continued with high school and my first years of college like normal, though very active in my faith, until God clearly called me to enter seminary. After eight years of studies and formation, praise God I was ordained a priest May 18th of this year.

Feel free to reach out if you would like to hear more of my story or just talk, I look forward to getting to know you all and to hear your stories.
